50 Day Countdown!

So I’ve been counting down to my check-in day for well over 100 days now, but today I realized I have exactly 50 days to go! I’m still continuing to dismantle my room in preparation to move back to Chicago. Luckily with the 4th of July coming up, I’ll be headed home for the weekend, so I’m taking that opportunity to move some stuff home before the big move itself! In my second vlog (still adjusting to holding a camera out in front of my face) I decided to share what my room looks like in my college house, and some of the stuff I’m packing to bring home this weekend! Enjoy!

The First Vlog

I’ve finally filmed my first (arm-sticking-out-in-front-of-my-face) vlog! I figure if I want to vlog my DCP journey, I need to get adjusted to filming myself in that style! It’s got a little bit of a learning curve, like holding it steady, not covering the microphone, and all that kind of jazz. I’ll get there eventually, so I might as well start now!

In my first real vlog I was just going through some things in preparation for Disney! It may be a little over 2 months away, but I like to be well prepared. Since I’ll be moving so many times within the next year, it’s really important for me to stay organized throughout the whole process. So for me that means starting early, and creating a packing list! So enjoy my first vlog, and join me as I start my packing journey!

It’s official! I can now call myself a proud alumna of The University of Iowa!

IMG_2350 (1)After 4 years of hard work, classes, marching band, sorority activities, working, and blogging, I can proudly say I am now a college graduate! Iowa City has been my home for the last 4 years, and the friends I’ve made there, have become my family. My sorority sisters, my marching band friends, my roommates. They’ve all impacted my life for the better. Some were there graduating right with me, while some are continuing on with their education and looking forward to their future graduations. They have been with me through it all. From Difficulties in class, stress of time management, break ups, to nights out. I could never dream of replacing them, or the memories we made here in Iowa.

IMG_4514Even though I created my own friend family in Iowa City, nothing could ever replace my real family. They’ve been there for me before Iowa was ever even came into the picture. My parents have cheered me on in everything I’ve ever done, and supported me through even the toughest of decisions. My older sister has been the same way, and we only got closer once we both went off to college. I’m thankful that even though my family was hours away, they were always still there for me. I couldn’t have done this without them. They have helped me become who I am today, and I couldn’t be more proud of that.
IMG_4529Now that classes have ended, now I can really look forward, and starting planning for my future adventures in the Disney College Program! If you know anything about me, it’s that I love to be prepared. I’ll be packing far in advance, and making detailed lists of everything I could possibly need. I’m terrified to leave all my friends behind, and move halfway across the country, but I’m also beyond thrilled and thankful for this opportunity.

DCP here I come!

The Struggle to Focus.

So I thought after I was accepted into the Disney College Program, my excitement levels would simmer at least until my move in date got closer. Boy, was I wrong. These days I find it nearly impossible to focus on any kind of schoolwork. Without even mentioning Disney, I’m already distracted by it!

Whether it be thinking about what I need to pack, chatting with my future roommates, dreaming of my Bucket List, or basically anything else Disney related, I’m 110% distracted (not that I’m totally complaining…). But it is definitely making it extremely difficult to focus on my final semester of college. Just like any other DCPer, I’m ready to head to Orlando now.

I’m already a very over-prepared, plan-ahead, kind of person, but when I’m extra excited about what I’m planning for, it only multiplies those traits. I’ve already started developing a packing list, and my arrival date is already over 4 months away at this point! Hopefully I’ll be able to reel myself in enough to finish this semester out strong. I guess there could be much worse things to be distracted by than Disney, but nonetheless, I need to buckle down. Wish me luck!

P.S. As of today, March 31st, I have 139 days until I move into my Disney apartment!
